The Gilead Corporate Giving Program is designed to support non-profit organizations that address critical health equity challenges, especially in underserved communities in Latin America and the Caribbean. The program emphasises initiatives that remove barriers to care, expand healthcare capacity, and advocate for social change.
In the Latin America & Caribbean region, Gilead gives priority to projects tackling HIV and liver diseases, but also welcomes innovative proposals outside those therapeutic areas that reduce disparities, improve access to healthcare, and strengthen patient and community education.
The grant supports a wide variety of community-based programs, educating patients and professionals, building infrastructure, raising awareness, and enabling collaborative models tailored to local needs and contexts.

There is no publicly stated maximum or minimum amount applicants may request; organizations are encouraged to request the level of funding required to deliver their project effectively.
Grants typically cover direct programmatic costs rather than general operating expenses or retrospective activities.
Funding is for one-year projects (or less) in many cases; the grant review process expects detailed budgets and planned outcomes for the period requested.
Organizations must comply with Gilead’s terms and conditions: funds must be used for the described project, disclosures made regarding Gilead support, and full accountability provided.

Additional Notes for Applicants
When preparing your application, emphasize measurable outcomes, local capacity building, sustainability, and relevance to underserved communities.
Align your project strongly with Gilead’s health equity and access goals—especially for HIV and liver disease in the region—but feel free to propose innovative programs beyond those areas if you can show alignment with reducing disparities and improving care access.
Ensure your budget is realistic, detailed, and focused on programmatic costs—Gilead generally does not fund retrospective activities or general operating costs.
Applicants should be aware that approval is not guaranteed, and only one application for a given project is considered per period.
Because the application process is ongoing, it is advisable to submit early and ensure all documentation is complete and aligned with the application guidelines.
